All five positions on the Goodwill Town Board will be on the ballot this March.

As a newly organized township, the current elected officials are serving in interim positions until the next annual town election. To learn more about township governance and the duties of the supervisors, clerk, and treasurer, check out the “How to Run for Town Office” brochure.

The Candidate Filing period opens on December 30, 2025 and continues through 5:00 p.m. on January 13, 2026.

More candidate information can be found here.

With the recent organization of Goodwill Township, you now have the opportunity to vote in person in your own community on Election Day! Your new polling place is at the Lake Vermilion Fire Brigade building.

All absentee voting for the March election will be handled by the Goodwill Elections Administrator. Absentee voting for the March Township Election begins on February 6, 2026.

Absentee voting for the Primary and General Elections will still be conducted through the St. Louis County Elections office.

What does the ballot question mean for the township?

The Goodwill Supervisors voted unanimously to bring Option B to the residents and have them decide whether to have the town clerk and treasurer positions appointed rather than elected. If Option B is adopted, the election for those positions is nullified and the positions are filled by appointment by the town board. Because adopting Option B changes the position from elected to appointed, the person the board appoints to the position does not need to be a resident of the township, but would need to be skilled to perform the duties of the office. Direct all questions about this option to a Town Board Supervisor.
